Shifting Negative Beliefs with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

A negative belief can really impact on your manifestations with Law of Attraction. Take for example, the phrase, “I’m not good enough.” This could ring true for you in any number of life areas, such as career/relationships etc.


You can visualise and repeat positive affirmations about what you would like to manifest all day long, but if deep down you don’t really believe what you’re saying, the universe won’t either! It will only bring you more of what you expect to receive. (In this case, more feelings of not being good enough)

The good news is that you can shift negative beliefs using a tool called “Emotional Freedom Technique” (EFT).

EFT is a psychological acupressure technique. In traditional acupuncture, the practitioner uses the tips of their fingers to press on specific points on the body. The same can be said for EFT, but instead of using their fingers, they tap on these points with their fingertips in a rapid succession.

Emotional freedom technique was originally developed by Gary Craig and it is now used by millions of people around the world.

So how does it work?

Choose the limiting belief you wish to work on and give it a rating out of 10 in terms of how true this feels to you.

Next, you’re going to tap on the karate chop point (This point is at the centre of the fleshy part of the outer hand).

When beginning to tap, you would use the following prompt:
“Even though (insert limiting belief) I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”

Then you repeat your negative belief whilst tapping on the following “energy meridian points” with the fingertips, use two or more fingertips and repeat the tap approximately five times on each point:

Beginning of the eyebrow — just above your brow and to the side of your nose

Side of the eye — on the bone at the outside corner of the eye

Under the eye — on the bone under the eye, approximately 1 inch below the pupil

Under the nose — the point between the nose and upper lip

Chin point — halfway between the underside of the lower lip and the bottom of the chin

Beginning of the collarbone

Under the arm — at the side of the body, approximately 4 in below the armpit

Top of the head — directly in the centre of the top of the head
